CLUSTER NEWSLETTER Holy Trinity, St. Mary's & St. Hedwig's FEBRUARY 2010 This and other pages of the web site are best viewed at 1024 x 768 resolution CLUSTER NEWS FROM HOLY TRINITY As Lent gets into full swing this week, we are in the midst of our second year of Disciples in Mission. Almost 200 people are involved, meeting in small groups, as families, and as teens, discussing the Scriptures of Lent. We continue to be excited about this program that is touching people in all three cluster parishes. This Thursday at 7:00 pm, and for the next three Thursdays, we are offering Evening Prayer, traditionally know as Vespers. It is one of the most ancient prayers of the church. Long before there was daily Mass, the Christian community gathered everyday for Morning and Evening Prayer, praying the Psalms and listening to God's Word. It is a lovely, peaceful prayer form. We want to invite anyone from our cluster parishes to participate in Evening Prayer for the next three Thursdays of Lent. You'll be glad that you did. Holy Trinity continues to offer its famous Fish Fry on the Fridays of Lent, beginning at 4:00 p.m. You can eat in or have take-out. Many people work very hard to provide these fish fries for the local area. It is a great support to Holy Trinity School and its programs. Come and enjoy at least one of our Fish Fries during this Lenten Season! CLUSTER NEWS FROM ST. CLUSTER NEWS FROM HOLY TRINITY During this Lenten Season St. Hedwig's calendar is "chuck" full of opportunities for individuals to prepare for the coming of Easter and the renewal of their baptismal commitments. We are in our second year of involvement in the Lenten Disciples in Mission Program. This past week our small groups met and appreciated the chance to gather with others to learn and share more about their faith. On Thursday, March 4th from 6:30-8:00 pm St. Hedwig's is sponsoring a cluster presentation by Dr. Barb Minczewski on Prayer and Spirituality. Her practical advice and "How To's" should prove invaluable as we continue our Lenten journey. Barb has shared her insights a number of times in our cluster and has always received rave reviews. All are encouraged to attend. We are looking forward to Bishop Cistone join us on Sunday, March 14th as together we celebrate our 10:00 a.m. liturgy. This will be followed by a reception in our Parish Center, giving parishioners a chance to welcome our bishop. News of a future event: St. Hedwig's is planning a reunion of all those who attended St. Hedwig School on October 16th, 2010. If you attended the school plan on joining us. It should be a great deal of fun. Additional information on our web site: www.sthedwigs.com. |
